Transforming Second Chances into New Beginnings
New Dawne has launched an innovative social enterprise — a repurposed shipping container converted into a store to raise funds for young women living in poverty. Located at the HFFG premises on Odotel Tsui Loop in Accra, the New2U Store offers gently used, quality clothing and household items donated by the international community. The store is operated by two young women from New Dawne's beneficiary community, providing them with hands-on entrepreneurial experience and dignified employment. All proceeds directly fund women and girls in launching their own businesses. The store was made possible through the generous support of ASOHOM — the Association of Spouses of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and Heads of International Organizations accredited to Ghana — along with New Dawne's Founder. Following a competitive selection process in 2025, ASOHOM chose New Dawne as a beneficiary organization in recognition of its meaningful community impact. At the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, ASOHOM representatives praised the project as a model of sustainable development; one that generates ongoing income rather than relying on one-time donations. Board Members of New Dawne, representatives of HFFG and the McKingtorch Project, and New Dawne's beneficiary women all joined in marking this milestone. By offering affordable products to the wider community while reinvesting revenue into New Dawne's programs, the store embodies the organization's mission: advancing social inclusion, economic empowerment, and lasting change for women and girls.
